What are Business Hours?

Business hours refer to the working hours during day time when business is commonly conducted. The business hours have a substantial regional variation. If employees follow the same informal business hours rules, they may communicate more easily and create a comfortable separation between work and personal life.

Businesses in English-speaking countries typically open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. This is referred regarded as the "nine-to-five" standard.

Similarly, there are different business hours in the U.S. This is because of the several time zones.

For instance, most companies in Chicago are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., although certain places of business in New York City are open later. Americans change their work schedules to correspond with various time zones.
