What is Call Detail Recording?

Call detail recording (CDR) is a feature of telephone system which collects data of every outgoing and incoming phone call and details of other telecommunication transaction. The record includes attributes of the call, such as time, duration, completion status, source number, and destination number. Call center outsourcing companies are increasingly incorporating this software as this gives accurate information about call origination, call destination, the date and time the call was started, the time it actually connected, and the time it ended.
